Volunteer
If you want to help, we have a place for you! No experience is required. Here's a pdf of our volunteer form to get you started. There are many ways you can help us:
- Construction. We have opportunities for individuals and groups.
- ReStore. Our store is located at 600 Sheridan and is open 10:30 to 5:30 Tuesday to Friday, 10:30 to 1:30 Saturdays. The store's profits go to our building projects, making it an essential part of our operation.
- Professional Services. Professionals in our area can provide technical, legal and education services to Habitat as a way of serving the community. Donation of time and expertise greatly reduces financial burden of home construction and mortgage preparation. If you're interested in donating your time, drop us a line.
If you want to volunteer at another Habitat for Humanity location or see other opportunities within the organization, check out our national site!
What to expect:
- On-site supervision (construction director, house leaders, and crew leaders are all there to make sure you are working as efficiently, as safely, and as well as the professionals.)
- Varying tasks. Necessary work from day to day depending on the stages of construction. Please be prepared for any construction work.
- On-site materials. Habitat will provide all of the tools and materials necessary to complete the day's tasks. (If you wish, you can bring a tool belt, lucky hammer, or buy habigear.) {can they?}
- Safety. There are some tasks to be performed at our site that involve some degree of danger. Should you not feel comfortable performing ANY task, please let your crew leader know. You will not be required to do any work you feel unsafe doing.
- A great work experience! Our staff is committed to making this experience a rewarding one for not only the prospective homeowners, but also for our you, our valued volunteers.
